Hardware Upgrade for Intelligent Manufacturing | JEO Silver Drive Adds New Precision Machining & Inspection Equipment to Strengthen End-to-End Manufacturing Capacity for Joint Modules

JEO has expanded its machining workshop and inspection laboratory with new hardware. Newly deployed precision equipment includes 2D optical comparators, coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), gear testers and hardness testers, as well as turn-mill centers, gear hobbing machines and gear shaping machines. The upgrade further improves machining accuracy for robot joint components and full-process quality control capability.

To meet the demands for R&D and low-volume serial production of joint modules for humanoid and quadruped robots and consolidate its manufacturing foundation of “full-stack in-house R&D and production”, JEO Silver Drive has completed a new round of equipment expansion and upgrade for its machining workshop and inspection laboratory. Multiple sets of precision machining and testing instruments have been officially put into operation, further strengthening the closed-loop capability covering component machining through finished-product validation.

🔍 New Additions to Precision Inspection Laboratory New equipment includes 2D optical comparators, coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), gear testers and hardness testers. These devices support multi-dimensional inspection tasks such as 2D component profiles, 3D geometric tolerances, gear tooth profile and lead accuracy, and material hardness. They deliver high-precision measurement for planetary gears, motor stators and rotors, and joint structural parts. Quality control is brought forward to the component stage to effectively reduce batch variation and guarantee the reliability of robot joints under dynamic impact, high and low-temperature operating conditions.

⚙️ New Machining Equipment for Machining Workshop The machining workshop has been equipped with additional precision processing machines including gang-tool lathes, gear shaping machines, CNC milling machines, turn-mill centers and gear hobbing machines. The workshop is now capable of efficient machining of gears and complex special-shaped structural parts, and can complete integrated processing of core parts for planetary joints. This reduces reliance on external subcontractors, shortens prototype iteration cycles, and accelerates delivery of standard products and customized modification projects for customers.

Robotic power components, from magnetic assemblies and frameless motors to integrated planetary joints, impose extremely strict requirements on machining accuracy and consistency. With this hardware upgrade, JEO has established a complete capability loop covering precision component machining, in-process inspection and complete-unit reliability testing. The setup supports internal product iteration while offering stronger hardware backing for customer customization projects.

Going forward, JEO will continue to improve its manufacturing and inspection system, leverage hardware strength to boost product performance, and supply higher-quality core power components for humanoid, quadruped and collaborative robots.
